I’ve recently started using a very cool tool that enables you to see rich contact profiles within your Gmail account, which is a great help in building relationships with your contacts. It’s helping with my productivity and helping me to connect up with more people and, as a result, I’d like to share it with you.
Online marketing is about building relationships
Online marketing is increasingly about connecting with people and building relationships. Sometimes this is hard to do whilst we try and ‘get the day job done’, especially with the amount of emails that arrive in our inbox each day. Rapportive have taken that daily challenge and turned it into an opportunity to do more of the networking and relationship building that we need to be doing, without having to leave Gmail!
It’s easy to install and creates a right hand bar in your Gmail account that shows rich data about the people who have emailed you, which will help you in building relationships. You can see:
- their photo
- where they’re based
- their company and position
- what they do
- Follow them on Twitter
- Connect with them on Facebook
- Connect with them on LinkedIn
- View the person in your Google Contacts
Recent status updates readily available help you in building relationships
Rapportive also shows the most recent tweets and Facebook Updates from that person, which really gives you a great opportunity to follow up and make a connection with them. When you email them you can mention their recent tweets or your shared interests, and really develop rapport with that person. You can also see the most recent other emails that you have received from that person.
There is also a section where you can add in private notes about that person for future reference. They are private to you and reappear each time you are in an email from that person. This give you a great opportunity to develop a database of contacts within your email system.
I am also using a plugin to AWeber that also shows me if that person (with that email) is subscribed to any of my subscriber lists, which can be very useful in further building relationships with your subscribers on an individual basis.
When you get an email sent to other people as well as you, you can find out their details too by hovering over their email address.
Rapportive also allow you to suggest and vote for future enhancements, which I think is always a good sign that a tool will continue to be developed for the good of the users.
You can find out more about Rapportive here and then, what are you waiting for, install it and start building those relationships!
